About Susan Morris
Hey y’all! So happy to meet you, I’m Susan Morris! A true Southside Virginia girl raised in Lunenburg County hence the accent – house, mouse, out, south are all pronounced with a drawl, or so I’ve been told. As any proper farm girl should – I can drive a “three on the tree”, bale hay and fly a June bug on a string. I also learned that a casserole is suitable for any occasion? That one didn’t stick, I do not like to cook…ever…so I will never show up with a tuna casserole with potato chips on top – you’re welcome. Although I appreciate growing up in the country, you’d be hard pressed to get me away from the conveniences of suburban life now!
I am incredibly passionate about serving others. Luckily I am able to do that on a daily basis not only in real estate, but in mentoring and coaching. Whether encouraging others to be their best selves or guiding folks through sales processes, my greatest satisfaction comes from simply being able to help. I aspire to be a great friend, an outstanding mother, an amazing wife and a good soul who always strives to serve God and others.
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, including 3 generations of real estate, so it’s literally in my DNA. My maternal Grandfather started this family obsession over 80 years ago as the last owner of the landmark, Nansemond Hotel in Ocean View, destroyed by arson in 1980. It is carried on though today by my brother, who specializes in farm and land real estate, and me.
If I’m not prepping a house for sale, showing houses or negotiating contracts you can find me with “my people” – my best friend and husband of 15 years, Jason, our two awesome kiddos, Abby (13) & Grayson (11) and our very mischievous Black Lab, Jeter. Yes – we are Yankee fans! We are fortunate enough to have a little slice of heaven in Kill Devil Hills, NC and if I’m not on the baseball field with Grayson or the dance studio with Abby, you can find me with a book in hand and toes in the sand.
In case we’re ever on a game show together here are 5 things you may need to know!
- My favorite color is orange. But I love a splash of pink! Ohhh – maybe together!
- I detest turkey and love tacos.
- I read magazines back to front.
- Crushed ice only please.
- I have over 10 pairs of running shoes but I don’t run.
I’m glad you decided to stop by and learn more about me. I’d love to connect with you!
